First Bank is proud to welcome former Delanco Federal Savings Bank customers to the family!
The Delanco branch was opened in 1952. Being located at the confluence of the Delaware River and the Rancocas Creek originally inspired the name Delanco. Using a combination of both the creek and river names, the town originally came to be known as "Delaranco”. The name was later shortened to "Delanco”. In the mid-17th century, the town started to take shape with the construction of a railroad station, saw mill, post office and general store. By the 1880’s there were 150 households and a population of 450. This new growth gave purpose to forming an association to assist individuals in financing their homes. On April 19, 1890, a group of citizens met to organize a Building and Loan Association and the first loan was granted in August of 1890. This was the very beginning of the Delanco Savings legacy that spanned over 126 years.
Delanco is convenient to Route 130 as well as the Burlington-Bristol and Tacony-Palmyra bridges to Pennsylvania.
At First Bank, we’re working hard to make you feel like you’re home when you’re banking with us. We care about our neighbors - their financial security and their hopes and dreams. Like family, we won’t always be perfect. But, our mistakes will be honest and our efforts to solve the problem will be complete.
We understand that our brand of banking won’t be for everyone. Some people want branches all over the world. Some people want a variety of non-bank products and services. Still, we know many people want more than just transactions.
We are looking to create something special: a place where people feel welcome and respected; a place where people get treated fairly; and a place where people are valued.
Welcome Home to First Bank… Where our Neighbors Come First
